Twice as Tall as the Previous Leader
Adrenaline junkies and roller coaster fans will get their money’s worth with the new record-breaking attraction at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Standing at about 42 meters tall, the ride is nearly twice as high as the previous leader, the Maelstrom at Drayton Manor near Birmingham.
In the rotating pendulum of the ride, up to 40 passengers can sit facing outward, with their legs dangling in the air. They swing at 120 degrees, simulating the feeling of flying. Riders will have views of the adjacent roller coaster and the sea, as the amusement park is located right on the coast.
Ride Promises to Be “Colossal”
Amanda Thompson, CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort, promises according to the Daily Mail that the ride with the new record-breaking attraction will be colossal, massive, exciting, and an incredible asset to the city. Pleasure Beach is known for achieving great things, and Aviktas is no exception. The exact opening date for the pendulum ride and when it will first whirl passengers through the air is still unknown.
