The City Beach Barceloneta

One of the highlights in Barcelona is definitely the sea and the 1,100-meter-long city beach. You can swim in the Mediterranean and enjoy the warm sun rays until October. If you feel like it, you can order your dinner to-go and eat it on the beach. It’s advantageous that the Barceloneta beach section is not far from the Gothic Quarter, as you can easily explore the rest of the city from there. The beach offers plenty of space, so you can play volleyball or other sports. If you like, you can buy coffee or a soft drink at one of the stands on the edge and stroll along the palm-lined promenade.

Museums Are Everywhere

Especially on your first visit to Barcelona, you should definitely take the time to visit some of the famous museums and the beautiful Gaudí buildings. Even if you’re not into art and culture, you should pay a short visit to the Picasso Museum, the Basilica Sagrada Família, Park Güell, the National Art Museum of Catalonia, and the Casa Batlló building. The Picasso Museum has a large collection of works from Picasso’s youth, as he lived in Barcelona for a few years back then. The building is a combination of five Gothic palaces from the 13th to 15th centuries. It is located in the famous Barri Gòtic, so you can easily explore this historic part of Barcelona afterward.

In small boutiques, you can buy beautiful souvenirs or get something new and special for your wardrobe.
