Year after year, the flight rating portal Skytrax presents the World Airline Awards. This includes recognizing the world’s cleanest airline. In 2025, once again, an Asian airline takes the top spot.
Crumb-filled seats, sticky tables and armrests, or poorly cleaned restrooms: If you find an airplane in such a state, you can only hope the time passes quickly. However, there are some airlines where you’ll likely never see the cabin in such a condition–they are among the cleanest worldwide.
The Cleanest Airline of 2025 Is …
… EVA Air! At the annual World Airline Awards, the airline from Taiwan takes the top spot for the cleanest airlines. Passengers rated the overall cleanliness of the aircraft cabin. But the details were also crucial: seats, tables, carpets, restrooms, and cabin panels were all checked for cleanliness–and EVA Air seems to have it all covered.
The airline itself states on its website that cabin cleaning is an important service. Before each departure, all areas are thoroughly cleaned. This includes seats, tray tables, aisles, screens, restrooms, and storage compartments. There are also regular inspections to ensure passengers always board a clean aircraft.
In the overall ranking of the best airlines in the world 2025, EVA Air ranks 12th–in the best onboard catering in Economy Class, the airline from Taiwan even takes first place.

The annual “Skytrax” survey is published in seven languages, and participants come from over 100 different countries. They rate more than 325 airlines from around the world.
Europe Not Represented in the Top Ten
Notably, the top ten cleanest airlines in the world 2025 are exclusively from Asia. This means there’s a high chance of boarding a spotless plane. The first European airline is ranked 15th. Finnair from Finland is thus the cleanest airline in Europe. Swiss International Air Lines follows in 16th place, then Austrian Airlines, and Lufthansa is in 19th place.
