Geography in School
Geography, also known as Erdkunde, is a school subject. Traditionally, it is taught starting in the 5th grade, while in elementary school, it is more commonly referred to as local studies. Geography covers topics such as country studies–where each country is located, its capital, the rivers that flow through it, the mountains and bodies of water it has, its characteristics, and the people who live there. Geological aspects are also discussed in class. What materials make up different soils and how did they form?
