Germany’s Most Beautiful Hiking Trail for Multi-Day Tours Is in Saarland
Through orchards, beech forests, orchid meadows, shell limestone heights, and quiet meadows, the 107-kilometer Bliessteig in Saarland offers a diverse experience. The tour starts in France. According to “Wandermagazin,” notable stops include the French-influenced Saargemünd, the Gräfinthal Monastery, and the impressive Kirkel Castle. Other highlights are the ruins of Wörschweiler Monastery, the Hohenburg with its castle caves, and the idyllic Jägersburger Weiher. Nine daily stages are recommended, though athletic hikers can complete the trail more quickly.
