Once a year, “The World’s 50 Best Bars” ranking crowns the best bars in the world. Hundreds of experts contribute to the ranking, which in 2025 is led by a bar in Hong Kong. The best European bar in the world ranks third. TRAVELBOOK presents the top 50.
The list of the “World’s 50 Best Bars”, or the 50 best bars in the world, is compiled anew each year. It is based on the opinions of more than 800 bar experts worldwide, including bartenders, consultants, beverage writers, and cocktail specialists, as stated on the voting website. These experts recently cast eight votes each based on their personal bar experiences over the past 18 months. This collection of votes ultimately resulted in the current ranking.
The Best Bar in the World is in Hong Kong
After “Handshake Speakeasy” in Mexico City topped the bar ranking last year, the Mexican bar had to settle for second place this year. First place this year goes to “Bar Leone” in Hong Kong, which was second last year. It was opened in 2023 by the multiple award-winning Italian bartender Lorenzo Antinori. “At Bar Leone, it’s the cocktails that draw guests in—but it’s the warm service, inviting neighborhood atmosphere, and now almost viral mortadella sandwiches that keep them coming back,” the authors write in their justification. As in the previous year, “Sips” in Barcelona secured third place.

London Is Most-Featured in the Best Bars in the World Ranking
London leads the cities with the most favorite bars of the jury: The British capital is home to four of the best bars in the world. London also makes it into the top ten twice with its “Tayēr + Elementary” and “Connaught Bar.”
On the other hand, the German bar scene looks bleak again this year. Not a single bar from Germany is among the 50 best bars in the world. However, Berlin’s “Wax On” is at least ranked 57th in the top 100.
