Experiencing nature in the Alps doesn’t have to be hindered by physical limitations. With specially designated hiking trails, the Tyrolean region of Seefeld offers more opportunities for people in wheelchairs or with walkers–and families with strollers also benefit from the offerings.
Certified Tours for Different Needs
Those who rely on a wheelchair, walker, or stroller need paths that are as level, wide, and well-maintained as possible. Exactly such routes are available in the Seefeld region on the Tyrolean plateau northwest of Innsbruck. For the summer, the Seefeld Tourism Association has certified seven wheelchair-accessible hiking trails.
The offerings include tours of varying difficulty levels–from easy to hard–and different distances. The routes range from just under two to seven kilometers long, are signposted on-site, and appropriately marked. Except for one route, they are all circular trails.
