The fourth season of the acclaimed HBO series will be filmed on the Côte d’Azur starting in April. This marks the format’s return to Europe, following previous seasons that spotlighted international luxury destinations: it all began in 2021 at an exclusive resort in Hawaii, followed by Sicily and later Koh Samui in Thailand.

For the new season, the decision was made to use the renowned Château de la Messardière near Saint-Tropez. Series creator Mike White and HBO are opting for a new location outside of their previous hotel partnership for the first time.

New Hotel, New Dimensions of Luxury

For the first time, a Four Seasons property will not serve as the backdrop. With the end of the partnership, the production gained more freedom in choosing the filming location. The result: a property that sets new standards in opulence.

Perched high above the Bay of Saint-Tropez, the Château offers not only spectacular views but also an impressive history. Built in the 19th century as a gift from a wealthy cognac merchant to his daughter, the estate was converted into a hotel in 1904. In the 1920s, it became a meeting place for the Parisian high society.

After being acquired by the Airelles Collection in 2019, the luxury hotel underwent extensive modernization. Today, it features four outdoor pools and private beach access, among other amenities.

Iconic Setting for “The White Lotus” Season 4

In addition to the hotel itself, the region is likely to play a central role. The Côte d’Azur has been one of Europe’s most exclusive destinations for decades. Places like Cannes, Nice, and Monaco are synonymous with glamour and international celebrity.

Saint-Tropez is particularly legendary. The coastal town has been the setting for numerous well-known film productions and has long attracted wealthy guests from around the world. With “The White Lotus,” it is once again in the spotlight of a global audience.

High Demand and High Prices

Interest is already enormous. On social media, fans are eagerly following every development related to the filming, which is expected to continue until the end of October.

Those who want to be on-site will have to dig deep into their pockets. Many rooms are already booked. Through the official hotel website, a few accommodations are still available—such as a Junior Suite Belvédère for one night in May at a price of 3,933 euros. Alternatively, nearby hotels in Saint-Tropez and the surrounding area offer more affordable options.

Broadcast Not Planned Until 2027

Even though filming will begin in just a few weeks, viewers will have to wait. The premiere of the fourth season is currently scheduled for spring 2027.
