The Musical
STARLIGHT EXPRESS tells the story of a boy whose dream features the world championship of international trains. At the center is the steam locomotive Rusty, competing against rivals like the diesel locomotive Greaseball and the electric locomotive Electra. Besides the sporting competition, the relationship with the first-class carriage Pearl also plays a central role.
The performers move on roller skates during the show, sometimes skating directly through the audience. The production is complemented by elaborate costumes, light and sound effects, and rock and pop songs. The performance lasts about two hours and 50 minutes, including a 25-minute intermission.
