Parallel to the election of Germany’s most hospitable state, we also turn our attention to Switzerland. Hospitality does not end at national borders–and in our neighboring country, there are regions that welcome visitors with exceptional warmth.
Switzerland is not only known for its impressive mountain landscapes, crystal-clear lakes, and picturesque old towns. The country also captivates with its diversity: from the German-speaking Alpine regions to the French-influenced western Switzerland and the Italian flair in Ticino. This cultural and scenic diversity is also reflected in the people, who shape their homeland in very different ways and often greet guests with openness, helpfulness, and local insider tips.
For this year’s TRAVELBOOK Award, we are searching for the most hospitable canton in Switzerland.
Which Canton is the Most Hospitable?
Perhaps you recall a particularly warm encounter during a hike in the Alps, helpful locals during a city trip, or hosts who made your stay unforgettable. Then cast your vote now for the canton where you felt especially welcome.
Note on methodology: Voting is limited to one vote per device (computer, smartphone, etc.). For consistency, we use the German names of the Swiss cantons in this voting. The six half-cantons have been combined into one canton each.
