When traveling, people often remember more than just the sights, hotels, or restaurants. It’s usually the people who make a place special. The kind lady who spontaneously gives directions when your phone has no signal. The dedicated waiter who shares a secret spot for watching the sunset. Or the locals who take the time for a conversation and enthusiastically introduce their homeland.

Hospitality often shows in small moments–and these are what travelers remember the longest. That’s why we want to know from you: Where are guests most warmly welcomed in Germany? For this year’s TRAVELBOOK Award, we’re searching for Germany’s most hospitable state!

Vote for Your Favorite

Perhaps you were warmly welcomed on a trip. Maybe you felt instantly at home somewhere. Or you believe your own state greets guests with exceptional openness and friendliness.

Then cast your vote now and choose your favorite! By participating, you help determine which state is perceived as particularly hospitable by travelers and locals alike. Every vote counts in the evaluation.

Note on methodology: Voting is limited to one vote per device (computer, smartphone, etc.).

Announcement at the TRAVELBOOK Award 2026

Your vote will decide which state ultimately secures the title of Germany’s most hospitable. The result will be announced on September 22, 2026, during the TRAVELBOOK Awards 2026.

Every year, personalities from the travel and tourism industry gather at the Axel Springer building in Berlin for the festive award ceremony to honor outstanding achievements, trends, and developments in travel. It will also reveal which state is considered particularly warm, open, and inviting by the people here.
