As soon as temperatures rise, ice cream parlors fill up–and the lines in front of the counters get longer. Find out what makes this success so special at TRAVELBOOK.
The best ice cream in Europe can be found in a small ice cream parlor in the Harz: At Eiscafé Venezia on Breite Street in Wernigerode, you can enjoy the award-winning raspberry-rosemary flavor. German Team Wins Ice Cream European Championship
Just 23 years old, the new European ice cream champion Tiziano Santin, along with his colleagues, secured first place as part of the German team. The German ice cream connoisseurs prevailed against strong competitors from France, Italy, and Belgium. They particularly impressed with their raspberry-rosemary ice cream, but taste alone was not enough.

The jury also evaluated the visual presentation and creativity. Participants had to create an artistic ice cream cake and popsicles. The German team chose “Amazonia” as their overarching theme, according to a press release from the organizer. “We were actually the best team in terms of taste, and the ice cream cake was clearly the best compared to all the other teams,” Tiziano Santin summarized after his success on “MDR.”
