Become a tiramisu tester? Sounds like a dream job–and it’s now actually possible! This year, the “Tiramisù World Cup” will again take place in the Italian city of Treviso, where amateur bakers can showcase their skills and dessert fans can even become part of the jury. Since 2017, the Tiramisu World Cup has been held annually in Treviso, the home of tiramisu in Veneto. Amateur chefs compete to prove their skills. On October 10 and 11, it’s happening again–and jury members are still being sought for the two preliminary rounds.
What’s Behind the Competition
The competition features two categories: the classic recipe with six fixed basic ingredients or the creative variant, where up to three additional ingredients can be added. To reach the grand finale in Treviso, participants must first succeed in preliminary rounds at different locations, according to the official Tiramisù World Cup website. However, only those who are at least 18 years old and have no professional training or experience in gastronomy may participate.

Tiramisù World Cup: The Job as a Taste Tester
For the preliminary rounds of the Tiramisu World Championship on October 10 and 11, 2025, in Treviso, the competition committee is still looking for tiramisu testers. Amateur jurors can apply to taste and evaluate the desserts in the preliminary rounds. From the semifinals onward, the decision rests solely with professionals from the pastry industry and related fields.
The jury members sit at a table with up to ten participants and evaluate together. Each tasting round lasts about two hours. It’s not just about taste: The jury also checks whether ingredients and utensils are used correctly and whether participants work properly at their stations.
How to Apply
The requirements to apply as a tiramisu taste tester are simple: Jury applicants must be at least 18 years old. On the World Cup website, a test with 15 questions about the competition process awaits. This can be completed from September 13 between 10 a.m. and midnight. Those who pass the test will be contacted by September 26 at the latest–and will have the chance for a whole day of tiramisu tastings.
Good to know: Participation as a jury member is not compensated. Travel costs to Italy in October are also not covered. But there’s plenty of tiramisu.
