Every year, millions of travelers rate their favorite restaurants around the globe. With the “Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best,” Tripadvisor honors those establishments that are particularly popular with guests–from relaxed neighborhood lunches to elaborate multi-course meals. TRAVELBOOK presents the top 3 restaurants in the Casual and Fine Dining categories.
The award is based on reviews and experiences shared by users on Tripadvisor over the past year. According to the platform, less than one percent of the more than eight million listed hotels, restaurants, attractions, and activities make it into the “Best of the Best” rankings.
In addition to classic restaurant categories such as Fine Dining or Casual Dining, culinary experiences like food tours, cooking classes, and wine and beer tours are now also recognized.

While fine dining is about multi-course meals, exclusive ingredients, and elaborate presentations, casual dining offers high-quality cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Restaurants in this category demonstrate that exceptional food doesn’t necessarily require white tablecloths or Michelin stars.
1st Place: Pizzeria Arrivederci, (Paris, France)
Surprisingly, a pizzeria in Paris, not Italy, tops Tripadvisor’s 2026 casual dining ranking. The secret to its success: homemade Italian cuisine with many ingredients imported directly from Italy, hand-formed pizzas from a wood-fired oven, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Guests rave about the restaurant’s authenticity on Tripadvisor. One visitor even wrote that he felt “like a Sicilian New Yorker immediately at home.” With a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from over 6,700 reviews, the Parisian pizza seems justifiably acclaimed.
2nd Place: Tonnarello (Rome, Italy)
If first place proves that excellent Italian cuisine doesn’t have to be served in Italy, second place takes us back to its roots. Tonnarello is located in the heart of Rome’s trendy Trastevere district and focuses entirely on authentic Roman cuisine. Instead of extravagant experiments, the menu features true classics like Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe, or Saltimbocca, served in generous portions and a lively atmosphere. Tripadvisor praises the mix of traditional cuisine, attentive service, and the feeling of being right in the middle of Roman life.
3rd Place: Metate Cabo (Cabo San Lucas, Mexico)
After two Italian-inspired frontrunners, third place takes us to Mexico. Metate Cabo focuses less on a classic restaurant atmosphere and more on a complete experience: dining takes place on a tree-shaded terrace with string lights, an open kitchen, and a bar under the open sky. The menu features modern interpretations of Mexican classics, from Antojitos to specialties grilled over a wood fire.

For the second year in a row, Fogón Asado in Buenos Aires leads Tripadvisor’s fine dining rankings. The restaurant makes Argentine grill culture the main attraction: guests sit directly around the grill while chefs prepare multi-course meals over an open fire, explaining each step. This “intimate and interactive open-fire asado experience” thrilled over 4,200 guests, securing the restaurant the top spot once again, according to Tripadvisor.
2nd Place: KOMA Singapore (Singapore)
While first place focuses entirely on fire and Argentine grill tradition, KOMA transports its guests to Japan. The restaurant combines high-quality ingredients from Japan with modern interpretations of classic dishes like sashimi, tempura, gyoza, or uni pasta. Just as impressive as the food is the ambiance: the path leads through a 20-meter-long corridor with bright orange torii gates, inspired by the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. Add to that high ceilings, an impressive sushi bar, and artistic design elements. This blend of extraordinary setting and modern Japanese cuisine made KOMA one of the top-rated fine dining restaurants in the world.
3rd Place: The Rhythms Restaurant (Hoan Kiem, Vietnam)
Third place takes us to Hanoi. At The Rhythms Restaurant, authentic Vietnamese cuisine meets international influences–served with views of Hoan Kiem Lake and the old town. The name says it all: instead of focusing on individual dishes, the restaurant emphasizes the harmonious interplay of food, atmosphere, and view.
