In 2024, the show’s participants will return to Mallorca. As in the previous year, the “First Dates Hotel” is the Posada d’es Molí, a charming country hotel with 22 rooms, about three kilometers from the beach and a 15-minute drive from the town of Palma. The inn boasts an expansive property of 50,000 square meters, according to the hotel’s website, with well-maintained green spaces inviting guests to stroll and relax.
If you notice people on the show who you can’t associate with the main participants, they are extras. Only participants and crew had access to the filming location, as the hotel was closed to the public during filming. And it is currently closed as well. TRAVELBOOK has found out why.

How the “First Dates Hotel” will soon look different
As beautiful as the Posada d’es Molí was before, renovations are currently underway, and guests can expect a completely new look afterward. This is supported by the fact that the country house plans to reopen under a new name: Son Moli Country House & Garden.
What likely won’t change is the high standard of the hotel’s cuisine. Both the breakfast buffet and the à la carte dinner menu are positively reviewed by hotel guests (“a feast for the palate,” “highly recommended”). A visit to the filming location, meaning the hotel, should still be worthwhile, even with a new look. However, the pricing of the Posada d’es Molí after the renovation is still speculative. Previously, standard rooms of about 25 square meters cost 197 euros per night with half board, while two people could stay in the superior suite for 282 euros.

After Southern France and Croatia–why Mallorca?
In 2022, the show’s filming location was in the small town of Buje in Istria, Croatia. The first season of “First Dates Hotel” (aired in April 2020) was recorded at the Hôtel Ultimate Provence in La Garde-Freinet. The fact that Mallorca is once again the setting for the matchmaking show pleases TV chef Roland Trettl, who has always been the host of both “First Dates Hotel” and “First Dates.” “For me, Mallorca is perfect because I lived on the island for seven years,” he explained at the start of the new season. “It’s ‘my’ island, I feel comfortable here, and I want to share this comfort with my guests.”
How does the “First Dates Hotel” work?
The “First Dates Hotel” concept remains the same regardless of the filming location. It involves all participating singles checking into a boutique hotel with a Mediterranean flair. They usually meet for an aperitif and then get a table for two. After dinner, they might have a drink at the pool bar or even spend the night together. “If sparks fly, they could even spend the rest of the vacation together,” the broadcaster explained.
