Historic Christmas and Medieval Market in St. Wendel
Around 150 festively decorated stalls invite you to the St. Wendel Christmas Market in the heart of the historic old town every year. High-quality handicrafts, traditional Christmas decorations, and, of course, culinary delights are offered. There is also a medieval section where jesters and minstrels roam, and craft demonstrations such as blacksmithing, felting, or woodturning are held.
A real eye-catcher is the approximately 12-meter-high Christmas pyramid and a life-sized nutcracker. But the festively decorated Christmas tree under a net of lights is also a must-see. There is plenty for children as well, including a snow-covered toboggan run and numerous interactive activities in the crafts village. Additionally, there is a dwarf forest with more than 300 little gnomes and 19 miniature houses. Every evening, a night watchman makes his rounds and ends the market day.

Saarbrücken Christmas Garden
During the Advent season, the Franco-German Garden in Saarbrücken transforms into a small Christmas world. The market offers atmospheric lighting, festive music, and more than 160 stalls. Everything from wood and clay decorations to candles and special spices is available. Culinary needs are also well catered to, with game sausages, mulled wine, Belgian waffles, and much more. From a nostalgic Ferris wheel, you have a wonderful view over the festively lit Deutschmühlweiher. Each year, a large tree of lights stands in the middle of the water, and there is a floating Advent wreath.
On a floating platform, Christmas music is also played, which can be heard at various points along the shore. Throughout the market, stilt walkers and Christmas elves perform acrobatic feats and dance routines. In the southern hollow of the garden, there is also a medieval Christmas. Visitors can experience crafts from earlier times and sample corresponding drinks and foods.
