Whether you feel comfortable at a travel destination often depends on the people you meet there. A recent ranking shows where hosts in Germany are particularly well-rated.
A nice accommodation alone does not make for a successful vacation. Often, it’s the hosts who, with personal tips, a warm welcome, or help with small problems, ensure that you quickly feel welcome in a foreign place. A recent ranking by Airbnb shows where travelers have particularly good experiences. For this, the average guest ratings of hosts in Germany were evaluated.
The most hospitable region is Prignitz in Brandenburg
The top spot goes to the northwest of Brandenburg: Prignitz is located about halfway between Berlin and Hamburg. You shouldn’t expect much hustle and bustle here: According to the official tourism site, it’s the nature, tranquility, and vastness that characterize Prignitz. Expansive landscapes along the Elbe shape the area, as do historic places like Perleberg and Wittenberge, as well as the stork village of Rühstädt.

This environment is perfect for a stay in a vacation home or a small guesthouse. Here, you can relax in the middle of greenery and explore the region right outside your door. And if you ask the hosts, you’re sure to get personal tips: for the best excursion, a good nearby restaurant, or a hiking trail you might otherwise have overlooked.
