Countries with the Highest Alcohol Consumption

According to data from the online publication “Our World in Data,” Romania is the country where the most alcohol is consumed worldwide. The residents of this Eastern European country consume about 16.8 liters of pure alcohol per person per year.
Second place among the countries with the highest alcohol consumption worldwide goes to Georgia. In 2020, it was 14.41 liters of pure alcohol per person per year. With an average of 12.87 liters of pure alcohol per person per year, Latvia ranks third worldwide in alcohol consumption. Germany ranks sixth in this ranking. In 2020, the average alcohol consumption here was 11.8 liters per person.
