As it gets colder outside here and the sun becomes a rare sight, the longing for a few warm rays of sunshine grows. TRAVELBOOK reveals which travel destinations–in Europe and worldwide–are still warm in November.
In dreary, wet, cold weather and seemingly perpetual darkness, there’s only one solution: vacation! Sometimes a short trip within Europe is enough, where the temperatures may not be hot or suitable for swimming, but are significantly more pleasant than in Germany. For those with a bit more time and a real desire for summer weather, there are warm travel destinations worldwide in November.
1. Malta

In less than three hours, you can fly to Malta and enjoy pleasant temperatures of about 68 degrees Fahrenheit in November. Although the number of rainy days increases during this time of year, Malta is still worth a visit–especially if you want to escape the gray everyday life in Germany.
Even though the temperatures in November are more spring-like warm rather than summer hot, Malta is the ideal travel destination for this time of year. Sightseeing is much more relaxed then. A visit to the Maltese capital Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a must. While a dip in the sea might be a bit too refreshing, you should still check out Malta’s picturesque bathing bays and let your gaze wander over the turquoise blue water.
2. Fuerteventura

The Canary Islands are the ultimate travel destination if you want summer warmth in November without flying too far. In about five hours, you can be on Fuerteventura, where temperatures of about 77 degrees Fahrenheit in the shade await you. On average, there are only six rainy days and about six hours of sunshine per day in November.
Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands, in general, offer the perfect mix for travelers. You can still swim in the sea thanks to the warm sun, but it’s not too hot. There’s nothing to stop you from hiking, biking, or other sports activities. On Fuerteventura, you can take catamaran tours or explore the dune landscape in Corralejo.
3. Athens

T-shirt weather prevails in November in the region around Athens. Thanks to pleasant temperatures of about 64 degrees Fahrenheit, you can explore numerous historical sites like the Acropolis without breaking a sweat. The landscape around Athens, which you can admire on a trip to Mount Olympus, is also not to be underestimated. Around the mountain, there’s a national park with numerous hiking trails, a waterfall, and caves.
In November, Athens is the ideal travel destination–not only because it’s pleasantly warm but also because it’s not as crowded as in other months. You can stroll through the city, visit museums, or simply wander the streets, stopping at one of the many cafes along the way.
4. Oman

If you’re looking for a travel destination in November that’s not only pleasantly warm but also summer hot, you’ll need to fly a bit further–but you’ll be rewarded with perfect beach weather. We’re talking about Oman. After a flight time of about six to seven hours, you’ll be greeted by miles of sandy beaches and temperatures around 86 degrees Fahrenheit. But it’s not just the beaches that are stunning; the so-called wadis are too. These are dried-up riverbeds that fill with water after rainfalls and turn into real oases in Oman–with crystal-clear water and shade-giving palm trees.
Visiting Oman in November is definitely the better choice, as summer temperatures can soar up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

5. Seychelles

The Seychelles in the Indian Ocean are also a popular travel destination in November. With temperatures around 86 degrees Fahrenheit and a water temperature of about 81 degrees Fahrenheit, you have ideal conditions for a beach vacation. A small downside might be the number of rainy days, which can be up to 13. However, there’s no need to worry: the heavy showers usually last only a few minutes. After that, everything is back to normal.
Thanks to the summer weather, you can enjoy activities like canoe tours, catamaran rides, or snorkeling courses. The Vallée de Mai National Park is also worth a visit. It is home to numerous exotic animals, such as the world’s smallest frogs, and plants like the impressive coconut palms.
6. Mauritius

Plenty of sunshine, only a few rainy days, and temperatures around 82 degrees Fahrenheit: Mauritius offers everything you long for during the cold season in Germany. It’s usually windier in the south and east, ideal for all water sports enthusiasts. Otherwise, you can enjoy a relaxing beach vacation on Mauritius, thanks to numerous beaches with crystal-clear water and white sand.
But the island is not just for beach lovers. The Black River Gorges National Park is the largest protected forest on Mauritius. There, you can admire lush forests and waterfalls on hiking tours.
