Greece

It’s not exactly hot in Greece at Easter in April, but most regions enjoy pleasant spring weather. On average, temperatures reach about 72 degrees Fahrenheit (22 degrees Celsius)–in the south of Crete or Rhodes, you can even expect summery 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius). There are six to nine hours of sunshine, and it only occasionally rains. Perfect for a little Easter getaway.

Italy

On average, it’s a bit cooler in Italy at this time of year than in Greece–but the temperatures are perfect for hiking trips, city tours, or even a day at the beach.

Especially southern Italy, such as Amalfi, Apulia, Naples, or Sicily, is ideal for those who prefer it warm and sunny. If you want to swim in the sea, you’ll need to be hardy. The water temperature is just 57 to 61 degrees Fahrenheit (14 to 16 degrees Celsius).

Mallorca

Mallorca offers much more than just Ballermann and pop music parties. On the Balearic Island, you can also enjoy hiking, cycling, dining, and swimming in secluded coves with turquoise waters. The latter might not be possible in April–but those who spend their Easter vacation 2026 at one of the Germans’ favorite travel destinations can usually expect spring-like temperatures around 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) during this time.

Spain (Mainland)

The Spanish mainland is also worth a trip in April. Whether it’s a road trip, city tour, or all-inclusive relaxation vacation–Spain offers a wide range of options. In major cities like Barcelona and Madrid, numerous churches, museums, and theaters can be visited. Additionally, Spain’s 2,500-mile (4,000-kilometer) coastline offers numerous beaches and coves for swimming.

While in the south of the country, such as the Costa del Sol, you can expect spring-like temperatures around 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) during this year’s Easter holidays, it can still be quite cool in the north, like in the Basque Country, with about 59 degrees Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius).

Portugal

Portugal vacationers can look forward to wild nature, extraordinary castles, and colorful cities like Lisbon or Porto. One of the country’s most popular vacation regions is the Algarve. Here in southern Portugal, miles of rocky coasts with numerous sandy beaches invite you to take a walk or have a picnic during the Easter season with spring-like temperatures around 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius). However, for most vacationers, it might still be too cold for swimming at this time of year.

Canary Islands

In addition to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote, there are other Canary Islands that could be considered for Easter vacation 2026. For example, El Hierro offers wonderful tranquility, pristine nature, and healing waters. La Gomera attracts visitors with its unique flora and fauna. The island is considered the most exotic of the Canaries.

The Canary Islands are the perfect choice for those who like it summerly warm but don’t want to embark on a long-haul trip. On Tenerife or Gran Canaria, temperatures can reach around 79 degrees Fahrenheit (26 degrees Celsius) at this time of year, with eight to ten hours of sunshine a day.

Croatia
