Nuno Alves is Editor-in-Chief and co-founder of BILD’s BOOK family of digital brands, which includes FITBOOK, TRAVELBOOK, STYLEBOOK, TECHBOOK, myHOMEBOOK, and PETBOOK. BILD is Germany’s leading media outlet and part of Axel Springer, the global publishing group behind Politico, Business Insider, and Morning Brew. Nuno studied communication science at the University of Hohenheim in southern Germany, specializing in journalism, political science, and public relations. He began his career in journalism at Hubert Burda Media—one of Germany’s largest publishing groups—where he played a key role in building BUNTE.de, the online edition of the country’s most prominent celebrity magazine. He later joined BILD, where he initially led the online entertainment section before becoming Chief Text Editor. He then co-founded TRAVELBOOK, which has since become Germany’s most popular online travel magazine. Travel is more than just part of his professional focus—it’s a lifelong passion that goes hand in hand with his interest in fitness, health, and longevity. Nuno has explored nearly every continent, from backpacking adventures in Mexico to road trips through Europe and Canada. Two countries are especially close to his heart: Portugal, his family’s country of origin, and Brazil, where he frequently visits relatives. He is especially drawn to places with unique narratives or extraordinary landscapes. High on his current travel wish list: Japan, Oceania, Cape Verde, Colombia, Mozambique, and Taiwan.
